New Images take a sneak peek into the future of Saxon Court @MK Gateway

Socius, the mixed-use developers behind MK Gateway, which includes the redevelopment of Saxon Court, an impressive new residential village, and a creative make space for local small and independent businesses, have released new CGI images of how the iconic atrium and new buildings will look.

Saxon Court played a pivotal role in the early development days of Milton Keynes and will fittingly be at the heart of a new era for the city centre, with the creation of a landmark development at MK Gateway. Embracing the heritage of the former council building, the developers will retain, refurbish, and extend Saxon Court with the atrium becoming an indoor public square, with local independent food, drink, and leisure spaces.

Planning permission for the MK Gateway development was granted to Socius (formerly known as First Base) and investors Patron Capital in December last year. In partnership with property agents, Savills, funders are currently being sought for The Village @ MK Gateway, an iconic residential tower, designed by award-winning architects Roger Stirk Harbour + Partners.

The Village will embody the future of urban living, aiming to represent some of the country’s most sustainable homes. It will also feature a UK first - 11 Vertical Villages – outside spaces spanning three storeys, which provide room for outside work, leisure and communal gardening.

Barry Jessup, Managing Director of Socius Development said: Milton Keynes is one of the UK’s fastest growing and forward-looking cities and we have worked with world-class architects RSHP to design a scheme that reimagines urban living , blending high- tech workspace and wellbeing - focused BTR homes. We look forward to bringing this exciting scheme forward.”

With its commitment to meeting Milton Keynes Council’s economic growth objectives and sustainability playing a central role in all aspects of the development, the plans for MK Gateway received overwhelming support from the council, surrounding businesses and the local community.

The future growth of Milton Keynes is pinned upon the need for new homes and development across the town is therefore on a sharp upward trajectory.

Designed to be fossil fuel free with a focus on renewable energy, MK Gateway will set a sustainable benchmark for future developments across Milton Keynes. From the addition of 4,500 square feet of Vertical Villages and plans to increase Biodiversity Net Gain by a minimum of 10% to the installation of infrastructure which supports sustainable mobility. As a result, there will be more green space once the development is completed, compared to before the project was started.
